Firexpresss fire fighting systems propelled by compressed air vessels conform to Directive Number 97/23/EC of the European Parliament and European Council adopted on May 29, 1997 on construction and manufacturing of pressure equipment, and Directive Number 1999/36/EC of the European Council adopted on April 29, 1999 on marking and transport of pressure equipment. The mobile unit has an ATEX Zone 2 approval according to Directive 94/9/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of 23 March 1994 concerning equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Firexpress systems has been tested by the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology on Taiwan and approved for electrical fires.

Firexpress systems have been tested against the EN 3-1 1997 standard for fire extinguishers. The tests on Class A (ordinary combustibles) and Class B (flammable liquids) fires were carried out by the Danish Institute of Fire and Security Technology and took place at SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden.

Class A fire
A 5.5 meter long stack of wooden beams (an EN 3-1 1997 55A fire) was extinguished with 48 litres of mixed water and foam by an untrained person.

Class B fire
233 litres of petrol (an EN 3-1 1997 233B fire) on top of a water surface was extinguished with 11 litres of mixed water and foam by an untrained person.

Class C fires
Fire test have shown that the Firexpress systems are effective on class C fires (flammable gases).

Class E fire
The Firexpress systems has also been tested on class E fires (electrical equipment) during which it has proven to be suitable contrary to almost any other type of water based extinguishing methods. The test was carried out with a voltage of 10,000 Volts.

Firexpress A/S is approved by NATO and has been assigned Code # R3971 in the NATO Codification System.
